P/V systems installations in houses with the net metering method.
Net Metering is a system that has been widely used in other European countries and since 2013 in Cyprus.
The Net Metering simply is: The installed photovoltaic panels are generating electricity. If at that time there are electricity requirements from the house, the electricity produced is used to meet the needs of the house.
The extra energy from the solar panels, if there is any, goes to the grid. The energy fed and measured into the grid by passing a new meter fitted by the EAC. The same meter also measures the energy consumed by the household from the EAC network.
Therefore, the meter has measured the energy in kilowatt hours (Kwh) received and gave to the network. At the end of the two months, the electricity bill, equivalent to kilowatt hour’s witch channelled through the EAC network to the household, minus the kWh channelled to the network of EAC from the photovoltaic system installed at the household.
In case the KWh production channelled into the network is more than the household consumption, then the rest of the remaining KWh’s are being transferred to the next billing. This applies until the end of each year.
If customer wishes to install a telemetry system, with minimum additional cost, which enables the owner and the installer to monitor the performance of the PV system, as well as other important information via the computer or i-phone, i-pad and other smart phones.
The net-metering scheme for the year 2014 is for up to 3 KWp installed capacity per house.
The calculated performance of a 3 Kwp installed capacity, far exceeds the 5000 kwh per year. The above number has been verified and confirmed with the systems already installed in 2013 by our company.
